Description

The Analyst: IT Application Support is responsible for providing technical advice and support in installing, analyzing, testing, tuning, optimizing, diagnosing, repairing, upgrading, and maintaining system software to ensure the stability and efficiency of assigned applications. The role oversees daily operations by tracking and resolving issues, liaising with vendors and repair personnel, and ensuring effective problem resolution and monitoring. This position requires a strong technical foundation, proactive troubleshooting, and the ability to maintain documentation and compliance standards while supporting business continuity.

Responsibilities

• Receive, analyze, and rectify faults or allocate requests to appropriate parties while applying change control procedures
• Design, roll out, and troubleshoot solutions, monitor system stability, and implement interfaces following approved processes
• Provide technical support by analyzing requests, executing support actions, offering feedback, and updating documentation
• Test solutions to ensure conformity with specifications, identify and resolve errors, arrange customer testing, and assist with Service Level Agreements
• Monitor applications using approved Telkom monitoring software to measure all relevant variables and ensure system performance
• Maintain documentation by identifying needs, researching information, creating and revising documents, and ensuring proper approvals and filing

Qualifications

• NQF 6: Three-year Diploma or National Diploma
• Minimum of three years relevant IT application support experience
• Strong knowledge of operating systems including UNIX, Linux, and Microsoft Servers
• Proficiency in computer software such as Oracle Applications, MS Windows Servers, and Internet Information Services
• Experience with databases including Oracle and MSSQL Server
• Functional skills in database scripting, OS scripting, analytical problem-solving, communication, and organizational techniques
• Preparedness to work after hours, shifts, and stand-by when required
